Most reviews are completed within 2–5 business days from receipt of file and payment. Expedited review is available for an additional charge of $100.

Trial Date Appearance Fee
The appearance fee is non-refundable, serving as a retainer for the date requested. It includes expert testimony on the trial date(s), and trial consultation by phone is included. A case review is required prior to the court appearance.
Judge/Jury trials: two-day minimum retainer ($1,500). Motion to Suppress / ALR Hearings: $500, must be paid in full 30 days prior to the hearing and is non-refundable.
One half of the trial appearance fee ($750) is due thirty days prior to the court date and is non-refundable. The second half ($750) is due five days prior to the court date and is also non-refundable.
All court appearances include a 50-mile radius from Arlington, Texas. Distances beyond that are billed as itemized actual expenses, including lodging, travel, and a meal per diem of $50/day, paid prior to travel.
At the conclusion of the trial, a final bill will be sent for any incidental expenses incurred (taxi/rideshare, parking, etc.) along with any additional trial-day fees.
If a plea agreement is reached or the trial is continued at any setting, the appearance fee remains non-refundable, as it serves as a retainer for the court date(s). If travel has been secured, travel expenses are refundable only if cancellation is possible without a fee; the trial date fee remains non-refundable.
$750 / day
Travel Day Fees
If arriving the morning trial starts and appearing at the courthouse that day, it is considered a trial day at the rate of $750/day.
If arriving the day before a trial starting the following morning, a fee of $500 is charged for the travel day.
If trial ends in the afternoon, travel home the following day results in a $500 travel-day fee. If trial ends in the morning, travel home that day results in no additional fee (other than the $750 trial-date fee), unless a fee applies for a hotel or flight change.
Court-Appointed Trials
The mandatory $750 retainer fee is waived, and a trial date is held one time per defendant. If notified at least 30 days prior that the trial is being continued or settled, no other charges apply. If notified within the 30-day window, the first continuance trial date is held at no cost. If continued a second time within the 30-day window, the non-refundable $750 retainer is required prior to holding further trial dates. If the trial is dismissed or pled out within 7 days of the trial date, the $750 retainer fee is required.
Cross-Examination Consultation Based on Case Review
No minimum. Suggestions are provided to assist with cross-examination based on the completed case review, including opinions on the most essential parts of SFST administration and scoring, listed questions, and possible officer responses with follow-ups — supplied in advance of trial. Most consultations take 2–5 hours to complete.
$100 / hr.
Cross-Examination Consultation at Courthouse
A $500 retainer, non-refundable, is due thirty days prior to the court date. If the consultation exceeds five hours, a separate invoice is sent for actual hours worked beyond five. This service applies only when Lisa is not called to testify — she is present to hear the direct examination of the State's witness(es) and provides suggestions for vigorous cross-examination regarding the administration and scoring of the roadside SFSTs.
Trials located farther than 50 miles from Arlington, Texas are billed itemized actual travel expenses, paid prior to travel. If continued, travel expenses are refundable if cancellation is possible without a fee.
